Our goal at Mount Vernon is to create student leaders and global responsible citizens that will be ready to encounter the World's problems and solve them in a creative and positive way. Our children are our greatest asset and we  encourage them to always try to achieve their full potential.

Peace Builder Program -This is a school-wide program designed to help children learn how to problem solve and take responsibility for their actions. It is a simple way for students to thinking about making good choices at school and in their daily lives.

Student Council - This is a student led group responsible for improving  school atmosphere and suggesting new ways for making the school a better place for everyone. They have organized several school spirit days throughout the year such as Pajama Day,  and have been involved in several service learning projects such as Jump-Rope for Heart and Coins for Cambodia.

Peace Patrol - Students are trained in problem resolution and help other students to problem solve when problems arise in the playground. These students give-up their recess once a week, put on a blue jacket, and walk the playground to help their peers solve problems.
